First: know when to stop
- Unplug immediately for smoke, burning odor, sparking, shock, a damaged cord or plug, or water near electrical components.
- Do not open the refrigerant circuit, bypass a sensor, or remove electrical panels.
- If the manual identifies an error requiring service, record the code and follow that instruction.
Check these causes in order
- Confirm the outlet works, the cord is secure, and the control panel shows the expected state.
- Verify water is above the minimum line, below the maximum line, and seated correctly if the model uses a removable reservoir.
- Check that the basket, cover, water sensor, and ice-full sensor area are clean and correctly positioned.
- Confirm the room and source-water temperatures fall within the manual’s operating range and ventilation gaps are open.
- Drain stale water, clean the machine, and descale only with the manual-approved method.
- Power-cycle or reset only as the manual directs, then observe one full cycle and record any code, sound, leak, or stalled stage.
- If the symptom remains, contact the manufacturer or qualified service with the model, serial number, code, and observations.
